In January of 2006 a team of over 70 volunteers from the Frederic, Wisconsin area built an entire home from the groud up for a family 1,400 miles away in Biloxi, Mississippi. All in just 18 days. More →
A note from Chuck and Kathy Billeaud
Well it's been one year since God sent his Angels from Fredric, Siren, and Luck Wisconsin. He also reached to Sioux Falls and other places like Minneapolis MN. This may be hard to believe but thee are still people living in tents and many are living in FEMA Trailers. Things are much better here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Business is picking up. Many homes that were damaged are being rebuilt, there are some new construction around but not as many as would be expected. Here, in the area I live, there is one new house being built, several others being remolded, and many not even touched. Some are cleaned out waiting for the grant money.
If not for Christian communities responding to this Nation's worse Natural Disaster, the Mississippi Gulf Coast would be in serious trouble. Needless to say, there are still areas of the Gulf Coast that still have not been touched. There are area's in Hancock County still devastated, areas in Biloxi and Gulfport that haven't been touched, there is still storm debris in those areas with no relief in sight.
The "Butterknife House" is doing great. Every now and then we still give tours of the house.
Kathy and I have been blessed by God for sending his Angels from up North to come down and restore some since of sanity to our world. Kathy and I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for listening to your hearts and helping us. The generosity and compassion you have given us is incredible.
Thank all of you.
